How do I order?
Pick your items on the Order page and send the inquiry. It opens an email to me with everything filled in. I reply to confirm and arrange payment. Nothing is charged on this site.
How much notice do you need?
I need 72 hours' notice for every order. For a custom cake or a big order, tell me as early as you can.
When can I pick up?
I sell on popup days. Check the Instagram bio, @cat.and.mousse, for the next popup day. Pickup and local delivery are both available. Tell me your preferred date when you order and I'll confirm the day by email.
Do you deliver?
Yes, in the Fairfax City area. Delivery costs extra and the fee varies by location, so I confirm it by email once I know the address. Pickup is also available.
Can you ship my order?
No. Under Virginia's Cottage Food Law, orders are for direct pickup or local Virginia delivery only. There is no out-of-state shipping and no third-party retail.
How do I pay?
After I confirm your order by email, we arrange payment together. The site never takes payment.
Is your kitchen inspected?
No. I bake in my home kitchen under Virginia's Cottage Food Law, and the kitchen is not subject to state food safety inspection. Everything on the menu is non-potentially hazardous and shelf-stable.
What can't you make?
Because of the cottage food rules, nothing with fresh cream cheese, delicate custards, or perishable dairy fillings.
How much does a custom cake cost?
My cakes are customizable and the price can vary with the design. The menu lists the base sizes and prices. Tell me what you have in mind on the catering and custom order form and I'll confirm the price by email.
